Bombay 1947 is an economic engine-building game set in the vibrant, chaotic final years of British India. Players take the role of merchants, industrialists, and traders trying to build the most powerful economic empire before Independence.
The Gold Box edition includes premium laser-cut wooden tokens, a cloth trade-route map, and the full expansion pack — making this the most complete version of the game available.
Setup takes 10 minutes. Place the Bombay city board in the centre. Each player picks a merchant token and starting resources: 3 gold coins, 1 cotton card, and 1 trade route tile.
On your turn, take up to 3 actions: Trade (exchange goods at the Bazaar), Build (place a factory or warehouse), Move (shift your merchant along trade routes), or Play an Event card.
The game ends when the Independence card is drawn. Tally Influence points from trade routes, factories, and completed contracts. Highest score wins!
